Biography

Neil White is a criminal lawyer and a crime fiction writer, and so spends his days in the courtroom and his evenings writing crime fiction. His gritty and contemporary novels are set in the old cotton towns of Lancashire, and feature intrepid reporter Jack Garrett as the hero.

Neil writes with only one goal: to write a book he would want to read. His novels have received critical acclaim and sold around the world, and are soon to be translated into German, Romanian and Bulgarian. Neil’s debut novel, Fallen Idols, was nominated for the World Book Day Award, and was described as “a masterpiece” by www.eurocrime.co.uk, and his follow-up book, Lost Souls, saw Neil “come into his own”, as per www.thebookbag.co.uk. Workshop & Reading Experience

Neil has conducted a number of well-received author visits to libraries in the north. He appeared as a panellist at Crimefest 2008 and worked on a writing project with Year 6 pupils at Thornhill Junior School in Dewsbury.
