Workshop & Reading Experience

I have taught creative writing to adults for the past 15 years, primarily at Bury Adult & Community Learning. I am currently a writing mentor with the Crossing Borders project run by the British Council and Lancaster university, mentoring new African writers through e-mail workshops. I have run workshops/courses for various organisations, including drug rehabilation centres (Turning Points), for the homeless (the Booth Centre) and writing groups throughout the North-West and beyond. This year (2005) I ran a series of workshops for writers in South Africa and Botswana for the British Council. As part of this, I organised a reading of African writers from Crossing Borders; and I have previous experience of running and compering performance events.
