Margaret Holbrook
Biography
I live in Cheshire and I write mainly poetry, short stories and plays. I have had work published in several anthologies and magazines. In October 2012 my play, ‘Soup for Starters’ received an Honourable Mention at the Ovation Theatre Awards. In June 2013 my play Talk To Me, was a winner at the 60 One Minute Play Festival in Halifax. I have read some of my stories and poetry on local radio. Watching and other Stories, a collection of short stories was published in June 2013.

I have had work published in several anthologies including, Shop Window Poetry, for the Bolton Arts Festival 2012, Poems for the People, for the Lindfield Arts Festival, 2013, the words are in the air still, poems for Revolution House, Chesterfield, my work has also recently appeared in SLQ and Orbis and been accepted for The Dawntreader. Two of my poems are on the Writers for Libraries website. Watching and other Stories was published in June 2013 Cul de Sac tales published November 2013.
Workshop & Reading Experience
I host 2 Open Mics (Spoken word) in the Stockport area and also host a Play Reading event in Stockport (new work). Details for all events on website.
