Biography
Novelist and short story writer. I was born in Cumbria and have lived in the South Lakes for nearly thirty years. I’ve published an historical novel under my “real” name, Marian Veevers and, as Anna Dean, I write “cosy” mysteries featuring Dido Kent, an amateur sleuth operating in the time and social milieu of Jane Austen. I am presently working on a novel set in the Lake District which touches on the lives of William and Dorothy Wordsworth. I have also written short stories and monologues for radio. I have worked as Writer in Residence for the Cumbria Archive Service and I am particularly interested in the use of archive material as a source of creative inspiration. I have given presentations and led numerous workshops on this subject and I have also taught creative writing to a variety of groups. I work part time for the Wordsworth Trust.
