Amanda Brooke
Biography
Amanda Brooke is a Liverpool author whose first book, Yesterday’s Sun was a Richard and Judy Book Club pick in 2012. She continues to write novels with strong themes surrounding motherhood and family relationships and, after thirty years in local government, became a full time writer in 2016. Amanda will tell you she never dreamt of becoming an author and only turned to writing to help her deal with the grief of losing her young son when she was forty. When Amanda isn’t writing, she volunteers for the Alder Centre which offers support to bereaved parents and is a great advocate for using creative writing as therapy
